Atlanta loses to Philly 27-14

Philadelphia, PA, The Eagles are a better team. There I said it. Donovan McNabb is a good QB and he proved it today. He played hard took some shots and exposed our secondary all game long. Brian Westbrook looked so good all day catching passes and running on the Falcons.

 Pressure. It is so key to winning football gams and this was in my opinion the ket reason why we did not win a really winnable game. There was not enough sustained pressure on the pocket and because of that the Falcons stand at 4-3 and second place in the NFC South.

 Matt Ryan was good all game, good not great. 2 INTs is not what you like to see but a bomb to Roddy White and a good play at the end of the game to White yet again makes up for a somewhat spotty performance from the Falcons offense.

 Michael Turner was stuffed. Simply stuffed again and this is starting to upset me now.  58 yards rushing against a team that has allowed 100+ yard rushing games the last 2 consecutive weeks. Turner is a very good running back but this performance proves to me that this team still has a ways to go to becoming the team i know we can be. The offensive line got pushed around and didn’t provide anywhere for Turner to run.

So…. what now? Atlanta faces an Oakland Raiders team that just plain sucks. Running backs will be featured all game long with both Turner and McFadden. I am going to say now that Ryan doesn’t pass for more than 150 yards. I feel very optimistic for us playing in Oaktown next week and I really hope me make DeAngelo Hall look bad, real bad at least one play just to make him remember the team he left and how much better we are for it.
