Cats at Birds

This is the biggest game of the year for Atlanta. Matt Ryan is being looked to lead a potent offense to victory at home versus the division leading Carolina Panthers.

Jake Delhomme is looking to bounce back from some pretty exceptionally bad performances at Oakland and at home against the Lions. This is good news for the Falcons as they come off of their first home loss of the 2008 campaign. Delhomme’s biggest issues of late have been in throwing interceptions (4) compared to just 2 passing TD’s. The saving grace for this team has been an amazing running back corps and in my opinion the best defensive team south of the NY Giants and Jets and Baltimore.

Atlanta has the ability to stop this Panthers team but they will have to do it with a few key points:

 1. Stop the Panthers running game: DeAngelo Williams has proven to be an effective homerun hitting back who seems to peel off more big runs than anyone in the league right now. Jon Stewart is my favorite rookie in NFL this year not not named Matt Ryan, and he has achieved that because of his ability to run through defenses all while battling lingering injuries all year. This RB tandem is the best in the league this year and are going to be a pain all day long.

 2. Make Delhomme make mistakes: Pressure the hell out of the guy and he will fold like a cheap suit…..poorly. Abraham this is for you homeslice, sack Jake and make him wish he were never drafted!

 3. Score Birds Score!: We need to score early and often so that e can lighten the load on the defense and allow ourselves to play ahead.

The Falcons can win this game. We have a better team than the one we had in week 4. That is a distant memory and this is week 12 baby! Falcons win 27-21

24/10 Falcons win. So far this year every time the Falcons have lost a game they have come back the next week with a vengance. This week will prove to the team that they deserve a chance to make the playoffs. This week will be the difference between we think we can and we KNOW we can.

also yes i revised my prediction down from something like a 35/12  victory to a 24/10 victory. After second guessing myself and being logical i decided the panthers have a lot to prove too this week and will try to keep themselves in the game a bit longer than i had first thought.
