Atlanta Falcons: Back in Black!

by Falcons

This is why the NFL is the best league on earth. This is why the sport of football is so compelling. This was a game to be remembered in Falcons lore (if there is such a thing) forever.

The Atlanta Falcons needed to win this thing to keep pace in the NFC South and to send a message that last weeks defeat to the Broncos was a fluke and that these birds deserved to be in this postion. In beating this Panthers team it shows the league that coach Mike Smith is a hell of a coach putting his players in the position to succeed and win in the toughest division in NFL.

Matt Ryan played steady. No passing TDs but no interceptions. He made throws that were timely and smart and put the ball where it needed to be. Harry Douglas had his breakout game of the season running for a TD and scoring again on a punt return. Douglas made catches today as a regular part of a solid passing game as well in what will surely will become a common sight.

Michael Turner, what else can be said about the guy? 4 TDs today! The guy is a freaking monster!

Carolina did play hard. The Falcons just played harder. Let’s go out here and win this division people!

Atlanta has something that New Orleans doesn't, defense. The Panthers team that beat Atlanta in week 4 is not the same team now. If Atlanta plays remotely like they did this week then the Falcons will be in great shape.

Forget the falcons. They might have won but they need to realize they arent the team that will make the playoffs. Carolina beat them earlier in the season, and now ATL responds. Good job. But having a rookie qb will catch up one day and dont be surprised if New Orleans creeps up on ATL and steals third place.
