By now we all know the story. Plaxico Burress shot himself in the leg in a NY nightclub and it appears that he will face criminal charges in the matter. While I won’t defend anyone on either end of the situation I will say the following:
I respect the NY Giantsorganization and I like how they have built this team that is so dominant and I think Plaxico is a very talented receiver. But, at this point I say he has to go. Now if there are mandatory sentences to be handed out I don’t think that the Giants will have much choice in the matter but if there aren’t and he gets the proverbial “slap on the wrist” then I say they trade or release the guy and let him go.
First off this team has proven they can win without him and they got their championship already. They may win back to back championships but we all know the odds are stacked against that happening. So, Plax starts over in a new city and the Giants get rid of a possible public relations nightmare. Problem solved and case closed. Just please don’t come to the Falcons with that crap!
