Falcons lose to Saints

The Atlanta Falcons lost to the New Orleans Saints in a game that was well played and actually pretty well officiated as well.

 I respect Drew Brees and I still think he is a really good QB and he did what I hoped he wouldn’t, he beat Matt Ryan. The Falcons have a very well balanced team, and some really great up and coming talents in Roddy White and Michael Turner. Harry Douglas looks to be the real deal and the defense is improving with every week.

 The Saints are on their way out. Sorry Saints fans. This team has an offense that can put up points but a defense that runs so hot an cold that they don’t give themselves a chance to win in a very tough division. Sean Payton doesn’t have a coaching staff that impresses me at all. The offense is talented but useless on the defensive side and unless this teams has the draft of a lifetime this team will have trouble keeping up in a defense first NFC South.

 A word of encouragement for the Saints faithful. Pierre Thomas is good. I don’t know if he is going to be a star but I think he possesses the tools to be a solid player. I am going to mark my positive statement with a not so positive one. Reggie Bush is not the answer. Sorry, he just isn’t it. He is a very good athlete but he just doesn’t strike me as the guy who can be that player that makes everyone play better. Drew Brees is that player. He makes the plays that need to be made and he gives the Saints the chance to win every week, weak defense or not you have a chance.

   The Falcons lost ground in the NFC playoff race and we were out played fair and square. Remember this win Saintsfans because next week season it will be harder and harder to be these birds!
