Buccaneers at Falcons

AUTHOR: placeholder | IN: Falcons | COMMENTS: None Yet |

Playoffs are on the line. Tampa needs a win and and Eagles or Cowboys to clinch a spot. The Falcons need to win to keep pace in the NFC South. A difficult situation to be sure but I wouldn’t expect anything less from the team that no one expected to challenge for anything except maybe the top draft pick in ‘09.

Matt Ryan has been a revelation in his rookie campaign and has given Falcons fans something they haven’t felt very much in the last year and a half, hope! Ryan is that perfect match of talent and intelligence that is so rare to find. Now for once that special player that always seems to be on the other guys team is on ours!

The Bucs are without Jeff Garcia who will be the 3rd or emergency QB today. That means that Brian Griese is starting against a Falcons defense that is expected to throw the kitchen sink at the Bucs offensive line. I expect a lot of pressure and at least one interception from the Falcons secondary. I don’t know if I like the birds getting a ton on sacks because I appreciate the Bucs offensive line.

Look for Roddy White to make some plays today. I see lots of passing attempts from Ryan and White is that pressure release that QBs always need. White has had trouble finding the end zone the last few gamesbut that all changes today. White scores 2 in the air and I say the Falcons roll 31-21!
