Falcons 2009 opponents released
The 2008 season is not over for the Falcons but we now know who the birds will be playing next year. I looks like we will be getting the east teams for the most part this coming year, which I am pleased with since it means limited travel and I am excited to see how the Falcons do against what is in my opinion a better class of opponents. So here is the breakdown:
Home: Tampa Bay Buccanners, New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears.
Away: NFC South teams, Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, NY Jets, NY Giants, San Francisco 49ers.
I reall hope upon hope that the Dallas game is on Monday night. Nothing like watching the birds swoop into the new stadium with the 60 yard long video screens and steal a win. I for one will be working overtime to get my claws on tickets for that game in Dallas so that me and at least two of my best friends (who are both Cowboys fanatics) can all go.
I won’t be so bold as to say, like the Steelers blogger did that my Falcons will go 16-0. But, I will say that this schedule is certainly tougher on paper than the one in 2008 and that I am excited to see how they respond next season.
The Bird Speaks!

maybe i am not counting right but i see 8 home games and 7 away games. did you miss an away game?
