The NFL has just under 30 days until the draft and speculation is rampant for who will go number 1 and who will take the biggest drop. The Falcons hold the 24th overall pick and the thoughts on who the dirty birds should take has been varied to say the least.
First off there were the Tight End boosters saying that Matt Ryan needed another receiving threat to add to an already potent attack. Of course the popular pick was Brandon Pettigrew from Oklahoma State University. I am a fan of Pettigrew the I like the size, speed and receiving capabilities that the [...]

Dynasty in the making
When you think of dynasty what do you think?
I think about this:
I will tell you that this is what the Atlanta Falcons are building toward. The Birds may not be the New England Patriots today but I tell you all right now that this team has the building blocks for greatness:
A young QB in Matt Ryan who is a born leader and who is steady under fire and who has a strong arm and an even stronger will to succeed.
Michael Turner who is one of the smartest running backs I have seen play in the game, Turner has the [...]
The off season is a fun time to be a football fan. Will your team make the right decisions or will they get a bust? It is high drama at all turns.
The Falcons had a great season and overall the team showed depth at many positions and great coaching. But, alas we couldn’t make it past the eventual NFC Champion Cardinals.
So free agency is in full swing and the Falcons have made some great additions: Mike Peterson is the biggest prize so far, Peterson is versatile linebacker who has strong leadership qualities and will be a welcome addition to a depleted linebacking corps. [...]
Just say no to L.J Smith
I am going to say that I don’t personally have a problem with L.J. Smith, I however don’t want him in Atlanta. The reason is simple and that is look at the guys numbers:

When I think of a tight end I don’t expect Shannon Sharpe or Antonio Gates. I do, however expect someone who is out there making plays and yes more than 3 TD’s on average a year would be nice. The guy has had health issues and frankly, I want a young tight end to mold. I say no to a [...]
Fansided is going to have a 64 man worst draft pick tournament and I need your help to decide who we at Blogging Dirty will send to the big dance.
Here are some ideas:
Aundray Bruce, Atlanta Falcons (No. 1, 1988)
The NFL draft is a science? Hah! Bruce was a speedy outside linebacker from Auburn, but he ended up starting just 42 games in his 11-year career. The Falcons wanted a pass-rusher, but they should have taken the guy who went No. 2 — Neil Smith (105 sacks) — or maybe better, one of three wide receivers: Tim Brown, Sterling Sharpe or [...]
I don’t live in the Atlanta area, heck I don’t even live in the south. So I saw two new spots that premiered today and I wanted to show them off to everyone out there.
Feeding Time Birds of Prey
Mike Peterson, one of my favorite non-Falcons in the league is now a Falcon. Yes folks we in the Falcons fold have watched two of our best linebackers leave via free-agency in an exodus the likes of which have not been seen since Moses. Well, we got a good player in return.
So, who is Mike Peterson and why is he so good? He plays smart, his tackling is almost automatic and he has great hands (15 career interceptions). This is the kind of signing we need in the Falcons organization. Peterson, a former Jaguar is familiar with Mike Smith’s schemes [...]
The birds signed free agent center Brett Romberg today and well, I don’t know how I feel. Hell, I don’t know one damned thing about the guy to be honest. Romberg has been in the league 5 years with the Jaguars and the Rams and now he is a Falcon….. so there we go. You heard it here first folks. Um yeah.
Watchmen
Watchmen, it is the biggest movie so far this year. Watchmen, it has been called un-filmable. Watchmen, it has been in some stage of production for over 10 years. Watchmen sorta sucked.
I just got back from the theater and I feel kind of jilted. I don’t know why this movie didn’t work for me, but I know that it didn’t. The movie wasn’t bad mind you, it just wasn’t as good a story as I thought could have, no should have been told.
I am sure you know the story by now but I will give a quick run-down.
The movie takes [...]
Terrell Owens wasn’t out of the league for a week, heck even a half a week and he signed a 1 year deal with the Buffalo Bills today.
First off, it is a great signing for Buffalo because this team may just be the most troubled franchise in the NFL with rumors of the team moving to Toronto and ownership that at times just looks like they have given up. Couple that with the fact that they may just be the most boring team east of the Mississippi and they just may need a little craziness, well the crazy is served folks.
Terrell Owens is going to [...]
