Falcons lose pre-season game but…

by Falcons

What an we learn from the Falcons 1 point last second loss in Detroit? A lot if you ask me.

First off let’s start off with the positives:

Strong Side Linebacker Stephen Nicholas will be a force for this team. He moves well to the ball and has good instincts and I feel he will be a solid replacement for Keith Brooking.

The secondary as a whole impressed the hell out of me. Now, this is the Lions so I am not going to say we will be the Ravens or anything, but I have to say that Chris Houston and Brent Grimes really seem to know what they are doing out there and Erik Coleman is so underrated in this league.

No. 21 Christopher Owens is a rookie out of San Jose State and no one made more of an impression on me than when this kid came on the field. Run stopping at the cornerback position is a bonus and man can he tackle. Way to go Owens! I will be looking forward to seeing you play again.

 The Not so great things:

What the hell happened to protecting the middle? Curtis Lofton was fine while he was in there but the back-up guys later in the game literally gave the game away to make QB’s that aren’t Michael Vick type runners gash them again and again! C’mon guys!
