Falcons beat up on the Bills 31-3 one game from history!

AUTHOR: The Dirty Bird | IN: Falcons | COMMENTS: None Yet

Matt Ryan has a 13-1 record in the Georgia Dome. An impressive feat for any QB but one this young I think just needs a moment of our attention…. there we go. Now on to the post.
The Falcons are now officially one game from breaking the bugaboo that has haunted us for 44 long years. Well it can end next Sunday, the Falcons could be winners of two consecutive seasons! Now I know if you aren’t a Falcons fan then you ae probably smirking or maybe laughing because this is a big achievement for my team.

Week 16 Bills at Falcons: The rundown

AUTHOR: The Dirty Bird | IN: Falcons | COMMENTS: None Yet

Atlanta, GA-  The Birds are home against the Buffalo Bills after a win last Sunday in New Jersey.  The Falcons need to win this game not for playoff seeding as they are out of the running but to end the 44 year old stretch of no consecutive winning season in franchise history.
Brian Brohm is expected to start today for Buffalo and the 3rd stringer should hopefully be under duress all game long with the Falcons defensive line out for blood. Jamal Anderson who, after being a bit of a bust in the left defensive end position has found some new life [...]

Falcons win a close one in New Jersey

AUTHOR: The Dirty Bird | IN: Falcons | COMMENTS: None Yet

What a slug fest! Mark Sanchez was the difference maker in this contest, just not the difference maker that Jets fans wanted; 3 interceptions and a very costly one at that late in the game sealed his teams doom and the Falcons can fly home to Georgia winners.
Matt Ryan played very steadily and did not throw a pick in the game while completing a huge pass to Tony Gonzalez to seal the 10-7 Falcons win.
Rex Ryan’s defense was all over the field today, limiting the Falcons offense at every turn, and the secondary was great today limiting catches to minimal yards and [...]

Falcons at Jets preview

AUTHOR: The Dirty Bird | IN: Falcons | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Atlanta Falcons (6-7) return to the Meadowlands of New Jersey this weekend to face the New York Jets (7-6).
Atlanta needs a win so badly to attempt to make any sort of positive statement for the ‘09 campaign and to give us any outside chance for a potential playoff run. If the Falcons can win the last 3 games of the season we will finish 9-7 and if the Cowboys continue their almost annual December swoon then the Falcons could just find themselves in the Arizona desert this January.
The New York Jets are an interesting group. They could be the first ever playoff [...]

Dunn a minority owner in Falcons organization

AUTHOR: The Dirty Bird | IN: Falcons | COMMENTS: None Yet

Warrick Dunn, one of the most stand up guys in the NFL is back in the Falcons organization and this time he is an owner. Arthur Blank announced the news a couple of days ago and it couldn’t come at a better time with the birds struggling with injuries, good news in in short supply right now.
Dunn spent his entire career in the NFC South with the Bucs and the Falcons where he had 3 of his 5 1,000 yard rushing seasons and where he was a member of a very potent rushing attack in the mid 2000’s known as [...]

It just keeps getting worse

AUTHOR: The Dirty Bird | IN: Falcons | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Atlanta Falcons are 6-7. About 6 or so plays and a couple of missed Jason Elam field goals from being 9-4, but I digress my faithful readers. You see it isn’t about the record or the Falcons infinitesimally small chance at the playoffs. It is about Jonathan Babineaux and Eric Weems facing felony marijuana and DUI charges.
You know what? I am not a prude and I am not puritanical. Actually I believe that drugs should be legal but they currently aren’t and no one should drive drunk ever. So can someone please explain why all of this crap is happening now? [...]
