I think that like anything alcohol should be consumed responsibly, some people abuse it, drink way to much and make terrible decisions. Also some people are just idiots one way or another and alcohol is a catalyst when fights or disuputes break out. The current system in place is fine and when I went to America (live in Australia) it was very similar to the one here. For instance here down under only light beer is sold and you can only buy 4 at a time. I think America is the same because when I was there I am quite sure light beer was only available.
