Falcons fans “hopeful” about NFL Draft

NFL.com tracks the fan mood for each team with its Draft Mood Across the Nation board. A mood can range from Bummed, Worried, Indifferent, Hopeful and Excited.

The consensus among Falcons fans? Hopeful.

While hopeful is a common theme among NFL teams just before draft day, it is well-suited to the Falcons.

Coming off back-to-back winning season for the first time in franchise history, the Falcons can finally assert themselves as a contender year-in and year-out.

The Falcons won nine games last season despite several starters missing significant time (Matt Ryan, Michael Turner, etc).

A healthy 2010 plus key free agent acquisitions (Dunta Robinson, Matt Girodano) and a need-based draft (DE/LB) should equal a playoff berth and perhaps a return to the top of the NFC South.

While Falcons are hopeful, fans of the Lions are the happiest and fans of the Panthers are the unhappiest in the league.

The board also tracks which fans are the most active (Dolphins) and least active (Browns) when it comes to message board posts regarding the draft.

What do you think? Are you a hopeful Falcons fan? What’s your mood heading into draft day? Let me know in the comments.
