ESPN’s Todd McShay Mocks the Falcons Pick

Western Michigan v Michigan

A few days ago we reviewed Mel Kiper’s thoughts on who the Falcons would select with the 19th pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. Today we take a look at who ESPN’s other resident draft expert Todd McShay thinks the Falcons will take with their first pick.

Kiper thought Michigan’s defensive end Brandon Graham was the best fit, does McShay agree?

Brandon Graham
DE, Michigan

McShay: We believe Graham is a better fit as a 3-4 outside linebacker, but his lack of height (6-foot-1⅜) puts some restriction on which 3-4 schemes he fits in. The Falcons have been searching for a pass-rusher for the past couple of years and Graham can play either the right or left side in a rotation with John Abraham, who is Atlanta’s only legitimate pass-rusher at this point.

You can read my thoughts on Graham here and revisit the Mock Draft here.

Is this cut-and-dry that the Falcons will take Graham if he is there? Do the Falcons have something up their sleeve? Let me know in the comments.

I think that the falcons has slot of good tricks up there sleeve just like last year draft they was really fired up on who they picked and now Arthur blank said his self he is not for back to back winning seasons any more he wants to won rings and champion ships so don’t sleep on the falcons they right now are unpredictable

Tremond – Terrific points. One thing we have learned since this new Front Office took over is we can trust them to make the right decisions in the draft and Free Agency. I like them taking a pass rusher in the first round, but if they go OL instead, it won’t shock me.
