For many players, their dream of playing professional football ended on Saturday night. For others, their dream continues.
The Falcons helped extend that dream for 15 undrafted free agents (UDFAs) by signing them to deals.
The Falcons Official Site has bios for each player, but here’s the list:
|Running Back||Dimitri Nance||Arizona State|
|Tight End||Leroy Banks||Southern Mississippi|
|Tight End||Michael Palmer||Clemson|
|Tight End||Colin Peek||Alabama|
|Wide Receiver||Tim Buckley||Alcorn State|
|Wide Receiver||Brandyn Harvey||Villanova|
|Wide Receiver||Ryan Wolfe||UNLV|
|Cornerback||Dominique Daniels||Nicholls State|
|Defensive End||Emmanuel Stephens||Mississippi|
|Safety||Rafael Bush||South Carolina State|
|Safety||Gabe Derricks||San Diego|
|Kicker||Garrett Lindholm||Tarleton State|
|Long Snapper||Justin Drescher||Colorado|
I don’t typically spend a lot of time on UDFAs since only a few will actually make the active roster. In fact, last season the Falcons brought in 17 UDFAs and only three made the team (DE Maurice Lucas, QB John Parker Wilson, OL Jose Valdez).
There’s about a 5-to-1 chance (17.6%) a UDFA will make the team. That’s two or three players from this year’s crop of 15.
