		<description>It&#039;s not a misstatement; more a question of semantics. While it&#039;s true the Vikings won the 1969 NFL Championship they lost to the Chiefs in Super Bowl IV. Since there was separate leagues until 1970, it&#039;s simply a matter of how one looks at it. 

I doubt most people, outside of Minnesota, consider the Vikings the champions in 1969. Saying that is the equivalent of saying the Colts won a title last year since they won the AFC championship, even though lost to the Saints in the Super Bowl. 

No matter how you look at it, I bet Viking fans would be glad to resolve the issue once and for all with a Super Bowl title. Thanks for stopping by J.</description>
