Where Does the Georgia Dome Rank Among Other NFL Stadiums?

The Georgia Dome experience. Was it good for you? (source: YardBarker)

Ever wonder how the home of the Atlanta Falcons ranks in the minds of the fans who attend the games? Does the stadium hold a special place in your heart or are you ready for a shiny new stadium?

The team at Stadium Journey has decided to find out. They post reviews of pro and college sports venues and they’ve given us fans the chance to rate each venue in several key categories.

Hit the jump to see how the Georgia Dome ranks and how you can add your own ratings.

Using a star rating system, you can rank the Georgia Dome (and any other venue) in the following categories:

Food and Beverage
Atmosphere
Neighborhood
Fans
Access
Return on Investment
Extras

Those rankings are then compiled into a single FanFare score, an overall rating for the stadium. The current FanFare score for the Georgia Dome is 2.7. You’ll also have the opportunity to write a review and embellish on your ratings.

The link to the Georgia Dome is here, but you can also rate other Atlanta venues: Philips Arena and Turner Field.

Your Turn

Do you think the Georgia Dome is one of the best stadiums in the NFL? How many stadiums have you visited? Is it time for an upgrade? Let me know your thoughts in the comments or start the conversation on Twitter.

Out door stadiums tend to be my favorite, but the ga dome is very nice!!! the BBQ and Chinese food in a football stadium is great.

Agreed! Outdoor stadiums do provide a nicer atmosphere which is probably a big reason the Georgia Dome was rated low. Thanks for stopping by!

only 2 stadiums i have been in are fulton county stadium when i was much younger and the King Dome in Seattle.
The long drive to seattle hasn’t made it easy for me to get to see a game at their new stadium. but i went 3 times to fulton county in atlanta when i was a kid. first time i didnt even get to see the game. I was part of the cub scouts halftime show. I wish portland had a team but here they only care about soccer and the trailblazers.

Good to see you back Funballad. It bad been a while. I never went to Fulton County stadium but always remember watching the games on TV and seeing the baseball diamond on the football field. I don’t like shared stadiums especially when that infield dirt gets muddy and the footing is always tricky. I never made it to the Kingdome but have been to Qwest Field and it’s a great stadium. I’m not sure Portland could support a football team. The people’s interest are so varied, but it would certainly create an instant rivalry with Seattle if that happened. I think the Georgia dome is getting ranked low because it is a dome and most people believe football needs to be played outside.
