New Super Bowl Odds Posted

source: YardBarker

Over at the NFL Facts and Rumors blog, the new Super Bowl odds were posted.

The first odds I saw were released almost two months ago by FootballLocks.com.

Those rankings had the Falcons as a 25-to-1 shot to win it all. These newest rankings are more cautious with Atlanta.

Hit the jump for more Falcons goodness.

Some highlights below. Check out the full list here.

Rank Team Odds
1. Colts 6/1
2. Chargers 8/1
3. Saints 9/1
4. Patriots 10/1
5. Steelers 10/1
15. Falcons 30/1
22. Panthers 50/1
32. Buccaneers 100/1

The biggest movers were the Washington Redskins moving from a 50-to-1 shot before Donovan McNabb to a 30-to-1 shot with him. The Arizona Cardinals were the biggest movers in the opposite direction dropping from 30-to-1 with Anquan Boldin and Kurt Warner to 50-to-1 with Matt Leinart and Steve Breaston.

I still think the Falcons are being overlooked here. There are eight teams in the NFC with better odds. Even the Redskins and Bears have better odds. Inconceivable!

If you are so inclined my advice is get your bets in now while they are a 30-to-1 shot because it won’t be that way for long and you could have a nice payday come February.

I can’t believe they rank the Chargers #2 with the contract disputes and losing LT. Besides, they always choke in the big game. I think Rivers is a highly overrated quarterback.

I think the odds for the Steelers are a bit high considering the whole Big Ben Rape issue. They do not have a QB of his caliber to replace him for his suspension and i expect that even when he does return the whole trama/ stress of the summer will negatively impact him this entire season.

Yeah I agree Greg. I can’t see the Steelers finishing above .500 without Roethlisberger for a chunk of the season.

The Charger ranking is a bit surprising but they were 13-3 last season so I could see it. I don’t know if I’d call Rivers a big-game choker but he is 3-4 in the playoffs with 2 losses at home. That’s doesn’t help the perception.

Thanks for sharing the Madden 11 rankings.

Ya, that’s high for the Chargers. How can you put them ahead of the Saints. Glad to see my falcons up higher.
