Babineaux Suspended One Game

Alex Marvel of Fox Sports reported Atlanta Falcons defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux has been suspended for one game stemming from his marijuana possession arrest in 2009.

Look for Corey Peters or Vance Walker to start in his place at Pittsburgh. If Peria Jerry’s knee injury isn’t fully healed we could see both Peters and Walker inside with John Abraham and Kroy Biermann or Lawrence Sidbury on the outside.

The positive spin on this is we will get to see what the youngster Peters can do against a Steeler team that will have to run the ball without Ben Roethlisberger. Babineaux was our best defensive lineman last season but the early playing time could benefit the rotation late in the season.

Your thoughts?

I think it’s the best possible and realistic outcome for this situation. Shouldn’t hurt us too bad, and hopefully Babs will be safer/more careful in the future.

Agreed. We don’t need any more “knucklehead” moves by Falcons’ players. He dodged a bullet with only a 1 game suspension. Hopefully he realizes the gift the Commish gave him.

It was a gift alright, thankfully it’s just one game, we need him on the field. I guess we get to see Peters early on, hope he does good!!!

Not to be Mr. Sunshine but I think it could be good. Getting Peters that time (even in a rotation) could pay dividends in the latter part of the season.

Agreed. Hopefully, the Steelers without Rothalkjaajkls won’t be too difficult of a game and a good chance to get some experience for our rooks.
