In a game the Falcons were always supposed to win, they did let not have a let down, blowing out the Colts 31-7. It was not a perfect performance by any stretch from the Falcons, but they remained in total control for the whole game.
The star for the Falcons was Rookie WR Julio Jones who exploded for 80 yards off a quick slant for a touchdown, just minutes after making his first TD catch in the NFL. A 50 yard bomb, which was initially ruled incomplete but was reversed in favor of Julio. He finished the day with 3 catches for 131 yards and 2TDs.
A quick 21-0 lead for the Falcons was cut back after a horrid pick 6 thrown by Matt Ryan to Colts CB Jerraud Powers near the Falcons goal line. Despite this setback the Falcons regained control and responded with a 8 minute drive for a touchdown after halftime, to make it 28-7
On Defense, the Falcons started fast, creating two turnovers on the first two Colts drives. The first was a forced fumble by Curtis Lofton in Colts territory that turned into a quick 7 points for the Falcons. The one decent drive the Colts had all game, was quickly stopped, thanks to a pick from former Colt Kelvin Hayden.
The Colts ineptness in both Offense and Defense, made it quite obvious why they are still winless. However, despite the poor play of the opposition the Falcons kept their concentration en route to an easy win.
The Falcons are now 5-3 and face a huge divisional matchup in the dome next week against the Saints.
