Some very exciting news dropping Tuesday afternoon, that the Falcons have hired former 49ers HC and Dolphins DC Mike Nolan to be their DC.
I am personally thrilled by this appointment as he was my first choice by some way, as he is one of the few guys in the league that can call the 3-4 effectively. Check out my article on the possibility of the Falcons switching to a 3-4.
In 2011 his Dolphins 3-4 defense ranked 6th in points allowed, with a group that is not overly talented.
There will be more to come on this hire, but for now everybody be delighted as this was a terrific hire!
