Somewhat of a blow has been dealt to the Falcons’ front office today. As according to Jason La Canfora of NFL Network they have lost former director of player personnel Les Snead, to St Louis as he has accepted the General Manager position.
The Rams had been looking for a new GM since they fired Billy Devaney, who interestingly enough also went to St Louis after a stay in the Falcons’ front office. With new head coach Jeff Fisher already in position, the Rams were looking for a young executive to come in and work with Fisher in the new regime.
Les Snead was regarded by many as Thomas Dimitroff’s right hand man and his loss should have some sort of an impact on the Falcons’ offseason. While it is difficult from the outside looking, to say how much of an influence Snead had on Atlanta’s success in recent years. It is evident he has been a hard working employee for the Falcons and we wish him well in his new role.
