I think it comes down to how big your band aide.This is where good coaching comes into play.The ability to lessen your weaknesses.And to take advantage of the matchups that are favorable.It looks as if the present game plan.Is to off set the pass rush .With the draw and screen play.That helps the linemen win that trench battle.Then you have the ability to look further down field.If the defense is above average.You either win the clock game or the points game(which becomes the clock game).I think those talking heads out there in network land.Undervalue the addition of the new coaches.This is a good team with balance and an identity.Just requires implementation/execution on the field.

@RonnieSinclareMexico I think you’re right on. If everyone is healthy, especially Baker, there is no reason for the Falcons to at least get a wild card spot. And don’t get me wrong, I watch ESPN too. I just feel like they are exceptionally biased.

I don’t think our weaknesses will lead to too many problems in the regular, but having a bad offensive line can lead to problems in the playoffs. Mike Smith drafts tough players, and while I agree he’s not the toughest in the league, he still knows how to inspire and get the best out of his players. He has a Don Shula like demeanor so you can win with coaches like him. I watch ESPN, but if our team stays healthy it’s almost foolish to think we won’t make the playoffs and if we don’t it would be devastating to the few die hard fans that we have. That last playoff loss sucked the life out of me, I don’t want to experince that again ever. The NFC is as competitive as its ever been and I think that we are more than equipped to run with the big dawgs…
