The Atlanta Falcons don’t currently know who they will face in the division round of the NFC playoffs, but they could find out by the end of Saturday night.
If the Minnesota Vikings somehow find a way to pull out a victory over the Packers in Green Bay, they would automatically go to Atlanta for the division round. The Vikings are the No. 6 seed in the NFC, and since Atlanta is the #1 seed, they play the lowest seeded remaining team. So, if Minnesota wins, it will be Adrian Peterson and the super physical Vikings on their way to Atlanta for the January 13th matchup.
There are two other potential opponents. And that would be the winner of the Seattle Seahawks- Washington Redskins game.
Let’s assume that Minnesota doesn’t win. Speaking hypothetically, that’s a safe assumption. The result would be the Falcons facing either Seattle or Washington on the 13th.
Sunday’s matchup between these two teams will be very interesting and entertaining, but it will also have massive ramifications for who the Falcons will face in their first postseason action this year.
Who would you rather fact in the division round? The Vikings, the Seahawks, or the Redskins?
