Atlanta Falcons: Could This Be The Season

You can feel it can’t you? The confidence building, the team becoming complete, the optimism growing higher than ever?

The Atlanta Falcons have never won the Super Bowl, they have been there but have never won it. Us die-hard Falcons fans have watch this team countless seasons look like a team ready to make that push but always seem to come up short. So why does it feel so different this year? Maybe its the playoff win or how close we were to getting there, maybe it’s what Matt Ryan showed us last year, maybe its the record or the guys we acquired in the off-season. I can’t put my finger on it but this year seems different.

Of course no one else league wide thinks that the Atlanta Falcons are there, we always fall into this role of underdog. I am sure that is the position we will be in this year yet again but don’t let that shake you we have the right t be confident. It is no longer worrying about who They’re playing it’s about how well Atlanta plays. Maybe that is what makes this year different the confidence of players and fans alike.

Who knows what it is about this season but I don’t think I am the only one who thinks this way. Nothing in the NFL is guaranteed but the future is bright for Atlanta and as long as they keep knocking eventually the door is going to open. Maybe I am wrong but a long awaited Super Bowl Championship seems to be well in reach this year and years to come! What do you guys think is the reason Atlanta will go all the way this year.

With the combination of experience and hunger on both sides of the ball as well as an infusion of youth on the OL , DL, and the addition of 1 potential shut down corner ( and another that could prove just as good or better). With MR2 under center flinging it and SJ39 pounding it, all the d has to be is top 10 scoring and its a wrap. Barring injuries I see us finishing 13-3 possibly 14-2 with the number 1 seed and home field throughout. NFC championship rematch. ATL38- SF28. And we’re in the show.

I thought they were going last year, until Grimes went down. Ultimately, Grimes proved to be the biggest “what if” injury of 2012. At that point, I knew that 2012 would not be the year of the Falcon.

Today? Now? Yeah, I can feel it. I felt it when I used to root for the cowboys in the 90′s, 80′s and 70′s. I know this feeling.

So like last season, I will caveat my “yes I can feel it” with “depending on key injuries”. I’m hoping the first two preseason games are with Davis at QB. Ryan will get hurt again, even for a few plays. We need the confidence of a good backup for Ice. Reports are positive for the way Davis performed this week.

Next week, my new 3 wheel motorcycle with custom Falcons paint scheme will be ready. I’ll be prowling downtown this fall. Hopefully, I can be in the Falcon SB Victory Parade in 2014. This season ticket holder is ready to RISE UP!
