4:00 PM on Tuesday is the time every NFL team has to turn in their NFL roster with only 75 players on it. After waiving 11 players this morning, three more players are left to get the boot. Here’s the list of players who were waived:
TE Tim Biere, FB Devonte Campbell, LB Nick Clancy, TE Colin Cloherty, QB Seth Doege, DE Cam Henderson, T Jeff Nady, RB Donald Russell, S Troy Sanders, C Matt Smith, and DE Brandon Thurmond.
Not a whole lot of surprises come in the first round of cuts. A few guys that looks nice in camp here and there go, but a lot of the guys that left didn’t even get any snaps in the preseason games. It won’t be for another week before the roster is forced to be cut down to the final 53. That will be when the big names are lost that may have looked good for the majority of the preseason.
Bradie Ewing must be looking just fine if they went ahead and waved a Full back.
Also, it is apparent that the Falcons Quarterback depth is already settled. Seth Doege didn’t do very much and certainly not enough to knock off Sean Renfree, the 7th round pick from Duke.
Who do you think will be the surprise when cuts come?
