It’s a sad day for Falcons fans everywhere as Atlanta fell 27-13 to the now .500 Arizona Cardinals.  Nothing seemed to go right for Matt Ryan and company, with Ryan constantly under duress from an aggressive Arizona defense.  Out of desperation, Ryan threw 4 picks that at times were complete bone-headed mistakes on his part.  On top of that, many passes flat out got away from him, and were either tipped, intercepted, or dropped when he actually threw a pretty decent ball.  With that being said, this is in no way Matt Ryan’s fault.  He is partially to blame, but this was a team effort that contributed to the loss.

Atlanta held Carson Palmer in check for the most part, but the run defense didn’t show up in any way, shape, or form.  Arizona runners finished the day with 30 attempts for 201 yards.  Atlanta, on the other hand, mustered up 27 total rushing yards with 13 coming from Matt Ryan himself.  The pass rush was also a non-factor, as Carson Palmer often had all day to throw.  So props to the Falcons secondary keeping Palmer under 200 yards.

The playoffs are getting further and further away from our grasp, and I don’t see us reaching it.   Hopefully the front office can do something; hell, ANYTHING to put us back in the race in 2014.  Win or lose, we are forever rising up.
