Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White was arrested on Tuesday morning for failure to appear in court. He was arrested early this morning, around 4:30 AM, and posted $168 bond shortly after.
White was initially charged with “non-transparent material on windows,” and was arrested for failing to appear in court on that charge. So, basically, he was arrested because he didn’t show up to court after he was pulled over for having tint on his windows.
Not to downplay one’s civic duty to show up to court when they’re supposed to, but this doesn’t exactly make White an enemy of the state or a bad apple just yet. He should have showed up, but who knows what really happened.
White, who had 63 catches for 771 yards and three touchdowns last year, is coming into a crossroads of his career. He has stated publicly that he wants to finish his time in the NFL as a Falcon, but that may not be the best thing for the team.
White has been one of the best players on the Falcons since they drafted him in 2005, and this latest incident is no reason to think that he will be a disciplinary problem going forward.
