Round 2: TE Jace Amaro, Texas Tech

Important Stat: Had 1352 receiving yards in 2013.

The Falcons and Tony Gonzalez parted ways on a sour note last week, and everyone would like nothing more than to move on from the once prosperous relationship.  Insert Jace Amaro into the Falcons receiving core, and it’s like Gonzalez never left.

At 6’5″ and 260 lbs, Jace fits the mold that today’s NFL is starting to desire in their tight ends.  While he isn’t the most dominant blocker, he is an effective one.  However, that’s not exactly what Atlanta would want him for.

A surprisingly nifty receiver, he will frequently find the soft zones in a defense, and exploit them for big gains.  His eye popping receiving totals, and 7 touchdowns would translate nicely into a pass happy Falcons offense.
