The Atlanta Falcons Lack Playmakers On Defense

I hate to state a problem and know that it can’t be fixed this season, although the Atlanta Falcons can still sign some prolific pass rushers in free agency, but this is a clear problem that it a serious threat from the team making the play-offs.

Against the Minnesota Vikings, the loss at the end of the 41-28 defeat was because they couldn’t make plays in the defense.

Turnovers, Atlanta Falcons vs Minnesota Vikings

  • 0 Sacks
  • 0 Interceptions
  • 0 Fumbles Forced
  • 0 Turnovers

I know, a little too rough to put so much emphasis but it was embarrassing.

The Vikings allowed 298 yards and 3 TD’s to Matt Ryan. Bad right? Well, yes but they were still able to pick the ball off two times. Those are costly turnovers, and the Falcons must start earning those as well if they want any shot of winning the division.

It means a better pass rush. Obviously Kroy Biermann isn’t getting it done, so Thomas Dimitroff needs to make a move and sign Andre Carter, a kid that racked up 10 sacks just two seasons ago.

It means a tighter secondary. Desmond Trufant needs to be more consistent, and the safeties just aren’t getting it done. They need to tackle better, and must play tighter coverage.

Comment below what you think the Atlanta Falcons can do, and what they should do. There are obviously not many solutions now, and that’s our fault.
