Mike Mayock: Matt Ryan ‘gets it’

NFL Media’s Mike Mayock believes Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan ‘gets it’. Reid Ferrin of AtlantaFalcons.com writes:

"“The way Ryan conducts himself in the offseason mirrors the approach he uses to handle his business in the regular season. Entering his eighth year in the league, Ryan is aware of everything that comes with the high-profile role, including big tasks like being fully prepared to lead his team, to the behind-the-scenes responsibilities such as offering radio and television crews with interviews to provide insightful broadcasts for fans. “"

Josh Shaw a draft target?

Scott Carasik of Bleacher Report continues his series looking at potential draft prospects for the Falcons. In his latest article, he takes a look at CB Josh Shaw of Southern California. Would he be a good addition to Dan Quinn’s defense?

"“He’s physical. He’s fast. He’s intelligent. He understands how to make plays on the ball and create turnovers with the best of them. The only real questions that come from Shaw are related to an off-field incident that he wound up missing a good portion of his senior season for.”"

Dupree balancing NFL and college goals

Potential Falcons draft target Alvin Dupree will be busy in the next few weeks. Not only is he likely to be drafted in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft, but he is also set to receive his bachelor’s degree in community leadership. Lindsay H. Jones of USA Today Sports writes:

"“And now, in a span of 10 days later this month and into early May, both will come true when Dupree hears his name called during the NFL draft – likely as a first-round pick – at Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre. On May 9, Dupree will be back in Lexington, Ky., hearing his name read aloud again as he receives his bachelor’s degree in community leadership. He’s expected to be Kentucky’s first first-round pick since 2003, and he’ll be the first person in his extended family on his mother’s side to receive a college degree.”"
