The Atlanta Falcons came through a close one against the Tennessee Titans, winning 10-7 and improving to 6-1 on the season. Coach Dan Quinn and quarterback Matt Ryan had plenty of reaction after the game.

Dan Quinn

“We knew it was going to be a fight coming in. One thing I’m most proud about is we were ready to go the distance today.”

On Devonta Freeman:

“I loved the toughness that Devonta [Freeman] finished with in the runs. He just represents all of the style and toughness that we love about running the ball.”

On injuries to William Moore and Leonard Hankerson:

“William [Moore] had a strain on his groin, [Leonard Hankerson] had a strain on his hamstring. When we get back tomorrow we’ll have a better update on those two.”

On pass rush:

“Well I thought we there was some improvement for sure, it’s absolutely an area of emphasis for us. We will be at our best when our coverage and our pass rush work hand in hand. I think we still have a long way to go in that neighbourhood to be at our best and it’s something we will continue to work at really hard.”

Matt Ryan

“In this league anytime you can come a way with a win, that’s the objective. And today was a hard fought game for us, we kept battling the entire time. We would have liked to have done some things differently, some things better.”

On Devonta Freeman:

“I think Devonta’s played awesome, he really has. He played awesome again today. His confidence is growing every week, and our offensive line’s confidence is growing every week. I think they’ve done a great job blocking for him. He’s had another 100 yard rushing game again today.”

On converting chances:

“We were like 33 percent or something like that on third downs, and 1-of-3 in the red zone. To score more points, you have to convert more third downs. When we have opportunities in the red zone we’ve got to score touchdowns.

“We had a chance on fourth down I think when we went for it and we didn’t get it done. And obviously when we’ve got the ball on the 1-yard line we’ve to get it in.”
