The Atlanta Falcons stay on the road this week to take on the undefeated Carolina Panthers. Here’s how the two teams match up.

Early in the season, it looked like we were headed for a two-horse race in the NFC South. The Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers were both undefeated and rolling after five games, and it looked like both teams had come a long way after many struggles in 2014.

But then the Falcons just stopped winning, and the Panthers couldn’t stop winning. And they haven’t stopped. Their last defeat in the regular season was on November 30 2014. Since then, the Panthers have won 16 straight in the regular season.

Right now, the Falcons are 6-6 and clinging onto fading hopes of reaching the playoffs, while the Panthers have already secured their spot with an NFC South crown wrapped up. Their focus turns onto winning the No. 1 seed and remaining perfect.

This is going to be a matchup between an Atlanta offense completely underachieving up against one of the league’s top defenses. The Carolina offense is performing at a much higher level than many expected, up against an improved, but still not perfect Atlanta defense.

How do the two teams stack up? Here is the tale of the tape.
