The Atlanta Falcons are a step closer to finding their No. 2 wide receiver.

After the blockbuster signing of center Alex Mack, the Atlanta Falcons have turned to offense again. They are set to host wide receiver Mohamed Sanu for a visit with an intention to sign him, per NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

Sanu would be the second Cincinnati Bengals wideout to leave via free agency this offseason. The Bengals lost Marvin Jones to the Detroit Lions earlier on Wednesday. Atlanta also missed out on Travis Benjamin who signed with the San Diego Chargers.

The Falcons are in desperate need of a wide receiver to complement Julio Jones. Roddy White was released last week after 11 years in Atlanta — he struggled to match his regular production in 2015. Leonard Hankerson — signed in free agency a year ago — couldn’t stay healthy and was inconsistent, and he too was released.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Sanu can give the Falcons immediate help on the boundary and play opposite Jones. With Justin Hardy roaming the slot, Atlanta would have strong trio at the position.

The blockbuster move of the day came with the signing of center Alex Mack. Atlanta now has a strong offensive line, an excellent young running back and their franchise quarterback. If Sanu is added to the mix, they look set.

For the remainder of free agency and into the 2016 NFL Draft, the focus for Dan Quinn and the Atlanta Falcons must be on fixing the defense. In particular, adding talented pass rushers is crucial after the unit posted just 19 in 2015, a league low.

Will Sanu join the Falcons? Only time will tell.
