At some point in the 2016 NFL Draft, it’s likely the Atlanta Falcons will address the safety position. Here’s three potential targets they should look at.

With just five selections in the 2016 NFL Draft, it’s going to be tough for the Atlanta Falcons to fix all of their needs. Of those is safety, and there are options for the Falcons on the opening two days of the draft.

The biggest priority is to fix the ailing pass rush. As you know by now, the defense put up an awful 19 sacks in 2016. If that doesn’t change, who lines up at safety won’t matter. Assuming Dan Quinn and Thomas Dimitroff find a solution to get after the quarterback better next season, they can turn their attention to adding another key piece to the defensive backfield.

Quinn was defensive coordinator in Seattle during their two recent Super Bowl appearances and was fortunate to have the “Legion of Boom” at his disposal. Desmond Trufant and Robert Alford form a talented duo at corner for the Falcons, but help is needed at safety.

Let’s take a look at three options in next week’s draft.
