As soon as we heard the announcement that the Atlanta Falcons were building a new stadium, we knew a possible Super Bowl bid would be right around the corner.

And luckily for us, that’s exactly what happened. the Falcons and  Mercedes-Benz Stadium won the 2019 bid over the New Orleans Saints with a majority vote. This will be Atlanta’s third Super Bowl awarded to the City. The first coming in 1994 and the second coming in 2000.

The Super Bowl will take place on Feb. 3 which means we are less than three years away. Here are some tips to prepare in case you are an Atlanta native.

Sure, the traffic will be awful. But who cares. Super Bowls don’t come all that often so you better get yourself down town regardless of who’s playing and enjoy every moment of it. Hopefully the Falcons are the team representing the NFC and if that’s the case, the city will be at overcapacity. That should be fun.

There’s a pretty good bet that the Falcons’ 2018-19 team will be very good. Matt Ryan will be right at the peak in his career, Julio Jones will be doing Julio Jones things and hopefully the defense is as good as we all think it will be in three seasons.

The ultimate goal is to get the Falcons into this Super Bowl. You better believe that was Arthur Blank’s first thoughts when coming up with this amazing deal of building a new stadium. Not only is it going to be good for businesses and the city of Atlanta, but it’s giving the home team a chance to get all of their ducks in a row and make a run for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

It wouldn’t be surprising at all to see the Falcons go all out in the 2018-19 season with trades, marque signings and other things as well.

Oh, and I wonder if the food prices will remain the same for the Super Bowl? Eh, probably not.
