Falcons running back Devonta Freeman believes an enhanced contract is coming his way.

Devonta Freeman is coming off a career high season finishing with 1,079 yards and 13 total touchdowns, and he knows that he can only get better. Yesterday, Freeman told the media that he has a feeling that something special is coming:

"“It’s that feeling when you know something special is coming and you’re about to be blessed. “"

Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman are without a doubt the best running back duo in all football, so Devonta Freeman receiving a lucrative contract offer makes complete sense. Freeman is a huge contributor on the high powered Atlanta Falcons offense as he scored at least once during all three of the Falcons playoff games, including the first touchdown in Super Bowl 51.

The running back also shared that he was in the best shape he has ever been in and feels like he should be payed like an elite running back, rightfully so. He’s massively overperformed his rookie contract, and he’s due something more.

For such a young back with impressive numbers, it seems like Devonta is hinting at an offer coming next week, probably by Thursday. Not only are the fans, Devonta himself, and his teammates aware of his importance, Dan Quinn and Falcons General Manager Thomas Dimitroff are also quite mindful of Devonta Freeman and what he brings to the table.

In an interview with Bleacher Report, Dimitroff recognized the importance of extending Freeman as a priority this offseason, saying:

"We want him here, and he’s a very important part of our organization… He’s a really good guy… He’s so hyper competitive… He’s an urgent, angry runner, which we want and we know is important for us. We want him to be around for years to come, and we’re confident that we’ll be able to get it done.”"

Falcons fans, expect an offer before Monday, June 19.
