As you’ve heard by now, the Falcons rookie rising star receiver is out for the season.

The good news is fellow rookie, Corey Peters, will only be out 10-14 days with a sprained knee.

D. Orlando Ledbetter reports fifth-round draft pick, Kerry Meier, has signed with the Atlanta Falcons. The deal is four years worth 1.947 million. That leaves only first round pick, Sean Weatherspoon, unsigned.

We continue with part two of this seven-part series detailing the best case scenarios for the Atlanta Falcons’ 2010 draft picks. We covered safety Shann Schillinger yesterday and today we direct our attention to the Falcons’ fifth round draft pick: wide receiver Kerry Meier.

Using data from the last 10 NFL drafts (2000-2009), I focused on wide receivers drafted in the fifth round to give us an idea of what Meier’s ideal rookie season might look like. What have players, who play his position and were drafted in the same round, done in the last 10 years?
