Many of you are looking at this name and thinking to yourself, no way on earth he wins the NFL MVP award. Andy Dalton? Really? Well, so far he has put his team, the Cincinnati Bengals in an extremely good position going into week 6. Dalton has helped lead the Bengals to a 5-0 start including a thrilling 4th quarter comeback victory over the Seattle Seahawks in week 5.
Let’s take a look at Dalton’s numbers.
Dalton has thrown for the fourth most yards in the NFL through the first five weeks with 1,518 and has 11 touchdown passes, tied for the third most. Dalton has the second best yards per attempt ratio with 9.49 yards per catch as well.

If Dalton want’s any shot at winning the NFL MVP award, then he has to get to the Super bowl. Good luck with that. The Bengals are good, but the tough task will come once they make it to the playoffs. The Bengals will likely win their division, but might not win home-field advantage with how good the New England Patriots are playing.
Out of the players listed in this article, Dalton is the least likely to win the award, but his stats through the first five weeks of the 2015 season should definitely be talked about.
