3. What to make of the Bucs
After blowing out the Philadelphia Eagles, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have now won three of their past four games and are right back in the NFC wild-card race. But what should we make of these Bucs?
What we’re seeing is a rookie quarterback growing in confidence and finding his feet in the NFL. In Winston’s first five games, he threw for seven touchdowns and seven interceptions. In his most recent seven, he’s tossed eight touchdowns with just two picks.
Winston was simply outstanding against the Eagles last week, throwing for five touchdowns. Sure, he made some mistakes and could have been picked off, but he’s a rookie. What’s exciting for the Bucs is that he was making some exceptional throws and is growing in confidence.
It’s going to be fun to see how he matures as a player in the coming years. The raw talent looks to be there, and he’s getting better and better. The Bucs instantly look a better team when the first overall pick is playing well, and he could make them a legitimate NFC South threat in the coming years.
