Atlanta Falcons: 5 free agents that nobody is talking about
5) Rodney McLeod, FS
Rodney McLeod has patrolled the Los Angeles Rams’ secondary for four years and has yet to miss a game. McLeod was given a solid grade of 77.8 from PFF and would give the Falcons a great young player to compete with Ricardo Allen for the starting free safety spot.
To say that Allen is the long-term solution at free safety for the Falcons isn’t fair to say. He had a very good year in 2015, but his future is rather uncertain. McLeod is a proven safety and if the asking price is fair, it would be a smart to pick him up.
At the half way point of the 2015 season, McLeod had only allowed four receptions for 14 yards good for the fourth fewest yards allowed among safeties. If that isn’t good I’m not sure what is. McLeod isn’t perfect, but he’s a very good 25-year-old and could soar to new heights on a Dan Quinn defense.
