Ndamukong Suh – IDL

The Atlanta Falcons did address the issue of not having a legitimate pass rush from the edge by signing Dante Fowler. However, the Falcons are banking on landing an interior lineman to pair up with Grady Jarrett. While this solution isn’t a bad thing because you never know how good a player someone will be; at least with Suh, you know you will get someone who can be a force in the middle.

The Atlanta Falcons did manage to resign Tyeler Davison to another one year deal but his inability to get to the quarterback leaves a lot to be desired there. Suh is a proven anchor in the defensive line and has a great ability to shed blockers. His arm length and strength is really great when trying to get past blockers and stop runs coming his way.

Even at 32 years old, Suh is not just a power rusher, he has explosiveness and quickness to move past blockers and blow up plays. His speed and quickness also allow for him to flex out wide into the defensive end spot and get to the quarterback from the edge.

Suh resigned another one year, $8 million, deal with NFC South rivals Tampa Bay. I’m aware the fanfare surrounding Todd Gurley, even myself loves seeing Todd Gurley as an Atlanta Falcons player. However, adding Suh instead of Gurley adds a greater value increase because we don’t know how healthy Todd Gurley truly is.
