#9 Ryan Tannehill

Ryan Tannehill at number nine hurts to look at despite his career resurgence he simply isn’t better than at least five of the players ranked behind him. Is there any team in the league that would take Tannehill over Murray or Stafford if given the chance?

I’m not sure Tannehill is better than Baker Mayfield and he certainly isn’t better than Matt Ryan. If Ryan were the Titans quarterback they would be annual AFC championship attendees with only the Chiefs standing in their way.

Tannehill has done well and turned his career around with the Titans. However, let’s not lose sight of the fact he has a great offensive line and is on a team with the best running back in the league. When everyone is busy attempting not to be embarrassed by the monster that is Derrik Henry perhaps playing quarterback while having A.J. Brown to throw it to isn’t as difficult as it is for other franchise quarterbacks in the league.

Tannehill is a top fifteen quarterback, not a top ten. He has had more help and less success than Ryan and that trend will continue this season. Let’s all ponder for a moment just how great Ryan could look if he were given Henry, a capable coach, and a good offensive line. Tannehill is propped up by a lot of help, and still, he isn’t a better quarterback than Matt Ryan.
