Atlanta’s tight ends vs. any Washington coverage defender

This might seem a little trivial at how the Falcons could have an advantage with whatever Washington defender goes against Kyle Pitts or Hayden Hurst—but they do.

Obviously, there is not a defender in the league who can win every rep against Kyle Pitts, he is simply a freak but luckily for Atlanta that is an even bigger truth this week.

Washington’s linebackers consist of Jon Bostic, Cole Holcomb, and rookie Jamin Davis. Out of those three guys, Davis has by far the highest coverage grade with a 64.6 grade according to Pro Football Focus. Not exactly ideal for any team, but that becomes an even bigger issue when going against the Falcons’ tight ends.

So, what about their safeties, are they any better? The short answer is a clear “no.”

Their two starters are Bobby McCain and former Pro Bowler Landon Collins. Neither of them has a coverage grade over 64.6.

This is a contest that the Falcons can abuse, they have a clear edge in this game. They should rely on the corner, seam, and curl routes to Hurst and Pitts throughout the entire game.
