3. Matt Ryan will be playing meaningful football games when many votes are being decided
It is very early in the year and seasons can still swing in either direction, however, early on it appears the league is top-heavy. There is a large gap between the clear contenders and teams hoping to be in wildcard contention.
In both conferences, these wildcard spots are going to be up for grabs deep into the season while the best teams have locked up their playoff spots.
Having watched Arthur Smith and this Atlanta team grow over the course of the last four weeks there is reason to still believe in this Atlanta team. This is a team that is going to claw their way back into contention on the shoulders of Matt Ryan.
Giving Ryan a chance to show the rest of the league he is still a player capable of carrying a franchise and elevating players who don’t belong on a playoff roster.
There is reason to think this offense that is clicking already will improve with a healthy Russell Gage and if Calvin Ridley can get back on track. They will have plenty of chances to improve as well both in free agency and throughout the trade deadline. Giving Ryan a better chance to put his name back into the MVP conversation.
