1. Kenny Pickett

At this point, it seems likely that Kenny Pickett will be one of the first two quarterbacks off the board. While Atlanta needs to remain active in searching for the long-term answer at the position Pickett is not a player they should consider drafting. Pickett is the Mac Jones of his draft class if you will, the player who might be the most pro-ready with the lowest overall ceiling. Giving Pickett the Atlanta roster is going to leave the Falcons in a worse position than they were in with Matt Ryan and leave them stuck with a quarterback who won’t prove to be the answer.

Pickett is a solid quarterback who is capable of running a team with a solid roster and a stable front office. We are sure Atlanta doesn’t have one of those and the second seems to be in great question after a rough off-season thus far.

Drafting Kenny Pickett with so many other options on the board would be a mistake. The only caveat to this is if he were to slip to the second or third rounds. If that happens Atlanta has to at least consider taking the former Pitt quarterback. However, if Pickett is taken in the first round as expected he shouldn’t be an option for the Atlanta Falcons.
