1. Carl Nassib

One of the more surprising cap casualties of the off-season was edge rusher Carl Nassib. As a rotational player, Nassib gave the Raiders solid production and is now sitting in free agency waiting for another opportunity.

Nassib has 53-career quarterback hits and 22.0-sacks through his six-year career. Nassib isn’t an elite edge rusher or even a starter but he is a great rotational piece who does his job well. Watching back his tenure with the Raiders Nassib consistently found ways to impact the pocket even when he wasn’t getting to the quarterback.

Atlanta badly needs pass rushers and Nassib is a nice rotational player. Much like Atlanta used Adrian Clayborn, Nassib would be a rotational player who is used simply as an edge rusher to come in relief and give Atlanta a player capable of making an impact play something sorely lacking on Atlanta’s defensive roster.

Nassib should only be brought to Atlanta on a bargain deal, however, considering his lack of production. He isn’t a player Atlanta should pay as a starter or give more than a one-year veteran deal.  If Nassib were to have a great season in Atlanta he would be another veteran piece the Falcons could move off of as well ahead of the trade deadline.
