2. Jared Bernhardt

The Atlanta Falcons made a surprising decision in the team’s second wave of cuts moving on from receivers Auden Tate and Geronimo Allison. These are two players who were viewed as favorites to win the 5th or possibly 6th (depending on how many Atlanta carries) receiver roles. Instead, the Falcons moved on from more established players in favor of those who have played at a high level in camp and the preseason.

It is still a very difficult path for Jared Bernhardt to make this roster but it is looking increasingly possible. He has been a star in each of Atlanta’s first two preseason games, if he can make an impact in the third it will be far too much for the coaching staff and front office to ignore.

Bernhardt certainly has the fanbase on his side after his clutch catch in the first game of the preseason.  He has shown chemistry with rookie quarterback Desmond Ridder and appears to be a better receiver than Atlanta had at the bottom of their depth chart last season.

Bernhardt is going to have to go out one more time and put together a good game that should earn him a spot on the depth chart.
