2. What it would cost to bring Lamar to Atlanta

Looking at a potential trade package it becomes obvious the Falcons are going to have to give up at least this year’s first-round pick and likely at least their next two first-rounders to land Lamar. After giving up their future Atlanta will in turn have to give Lamar a record deal that Baltimore was unwilling to give.  If there is any deal to be worked out within reason it seems the star quarterback is going to stay with the Ravens.

The only reason to leave Baltimore is if the Ravens refuse to give Lamar a contract. Obviously making any farfetched deal a bit problematic for the Falcons. Even if you manage to look past the cost of the contract it is hard to consider giving up first-round picks when you look at what Atlanta’s current front office has accomplished in the draft.

Kyle Pitts, Drake London, and Tyler Allgeier are clearly Atlanta’s best offensive weapons and all three have been drafted in the last two seasons.  This isn’t to say the Falcons shouldn’t have at least a level of interest in Lamar but rather that the price of the trade appears to be far too painful to make the blockbuster move.
