Gameday: Falcons at Cowboys

The Atlanta Falcons (4-1) come into Dallas down a key member of their secondary in Brian Williams, the former Jaguar and favorite of coach Mike Smith. Williams injured his knee in last Sunday nights win at home against the Chicago Bears.

The Cowboys (3-2) come into the game off of their bye week and look avoid a  possible .500 record  in a very tough NFC East battle.  The ‘boys boat the 3rd rated running game against a Falcons run defense that has been much improved since their loss at New England.

Atlanta has the 23rd ranked rush defense in the league (118 yards per game) and the 21st ranked pass defense (241 yards) but the 4thranked points per game (15 points). What does this mean you may be asking? It is simple folks, this team will give up yards but will not give up points, we have a team that plays better than almost anyone in the league in the red zone and our stats prove it. Coaching and preparation make this team such a force in the NFL and this game should show that to everyone.

The Dallas Cowboys running back Felix Jones should and  surly will be featured early and often in this game as the Cowboys will try to use his speed and agility to force the Falcons defenders outside to stop him but the key here is that our linebacker corps is so young and so fast that very few teams play better in lateral pursuits. The Falcons should do very well in stopping the elusive Jones and keep his impact in this game to a minimum.

The Falcons will find a Cowboys defense that needs a win desperately and DeMarcus Ware will be out for blood as he will be the biggest impact player on that side of the ball because the key to this game for the Cowboys will be pressuring Matt Ryan.

The Falcons just need to finish tackles and stop the Cowboys on 3rd down.

 Prediction: Falcons 34-24
