Atlanta Falcons vs. Green Bay Packers Recap: Why Atlanta Lost

We were outplayed. We were outcoached. We were manhandled. We were an embarrassment to the game of football.

I was in the Georgia Dome til the clock hit 0:00 in the fourth quarter. I support my team, regardless of the score. I applauded them for what they did this season. Shame on all fans that left in the third quarter.

I know it was frustrating, but you are supposed to be fans of your team, and you are supposed to support them whether they’re up by 20 or down by 20.

That loss was frustrating, but that one game doesn’t take away from what the Atlanta Falcons accomplished this year.

Yes the season ended in disappointing fashion, but Falcons fans have alot to be proud of. Not to mention the fact that the future is very bright for the Falcons.

Later I will write about what changes need to happen to make sure that the 2011 season ends with a different result.

But, I know you don’t want to read about this game or what happened, I wasn’t able to turn on Sportscenter when I got back from the Georgia Dome last night.

The Falcons lost because of two things, they didn’t execute and they made mistakes.

When you don’t do those two things well, you’re not going to win. Regardless of how good your team is, or how bad the opposing team is.

I don’t want to get into the game anymore than that. The game was painful and reading about how bad that game will not help.

The 2010 Atlanta Falcons made great strides this year, and just played bad on the day when the Green Bay Packers came to Atlanta. This is no reason to get down on the Falcons, only one team ends up with a Super Bowl each year. We can only hope we reach that point someday.
